The 1957 and 1958 Mint Sets were released during the "double mint set" era. This means that the U.S. Mint included two uncirculated quality examples from the Philadelphia Mint and two uncirculated quality examples from the Denver Mint of each coin.
In total, twenty coins were packaged as part of the set. This included two Philadelphia facility struck Lincoln Cents, two Denver facility struck Lincoln Cents, two Philadelphia facility struck Jefferson Nickels, two Denver facility struck Jefferson Nickels, and so on. 1957 also marked the return of Franklin Half Dollars struck at the Denver facility. The previous year only saw the coins minted in Philadelphia.
