The week could be classified as roller-coaster like as silver prices both rose and dropped in the trading days. Monday’s fix of $32.00 an ounce was followed by a $.04 drop on Tuesday and another drop on Wednesday to come in at $31.35 an ounce. The precious metal then jumped on Thursday to $33.28 only to drop slightly on Friday to the aforementioned $33.15.

Still the white metal is above where it started the year on January 4th with $30.67 an ounce and much higher than the 2011 low of $26.68 set on January 28th. Unfortunately, however, silver is much lower than the annual high established on April 28th of $48.70.
