Silver Coin Melt Values Still Climbing In Last Full Week of January

Silver coin melt values continued to climb as the precious metal showed its fourth weekly increase in a row. The London Fix for Silver for Friday, January 28, 2012 was $33.48 an ounce.

This was a very respectable increase of $3.12 an ounce from where it stood just one week before at $30.36. Looking at percentages, the increase hit double digits with a jump of 10.28%.

As for the daily fix during the week, silver was up on Monday to $32.45 from last Friday’s $30.36. Then the precious metal started a two day slide with Tuesday coming in at $31.95 and Wednesday dropping even further to $31.67. Silver rebounded on Thursday to $33.35 with a final jump on Friday to the aforementioned $33.48 an ounce.

Not without its ups and downs, the month in general has shown a steady climb. The low for the month (and thus the year) occurred at the beginning with the Fix for the 3rd of January coming in at just $28.78. The high is now held by last Friday (January 27th) with its $33.48.
