Silver Set Melt Values for the week ended up 3.5% reversing the downward trend reported last week. The precious metal had a London Fix today (April 13, 2012) of $32.365 per ounce.
For comparison, the last trading day last week was on Thursday which had a Fix of $31.27 an ounce. This places today’s Fix up $1.095 from that previous end-of week figure.

As the chart above shows, it was a positive week across the board for the shown precious metals. Leading the pack was silver with its aforementioned 3.5% jump. It was followed by gold at a 2.2% increase, then palladium with 1.3% and finally platinum had a small (but still positive) 0.5% increase.
It was a short trading week owing to the Easter holiday. Still, the silver market showed its usual ups and downs. The precious metal was up with $31.55 on Tuesday versus the previous Thursday’s Fix. It climbed a bit more on Wednesday to $31.70 before dropping to $31.47 on Thursday. Finally, the friday came in at the previously stated $32.365.
With today’s Fix, Silver is up $3.585 an ounce, or 12.4%, from its 2012 low established on January 3rd of $28.78 an ounce. However, it is still down $4.865, or 13.1%, from its 12 high established on February 29th of $37.23 an ounce.
