Silver Set Melt Values showed their second weekly increase in a row following a seven week slide. The London Fix for Silver on Friday, June 15, 2012 was $28.66 an ounce, up $0.49 from where it was on last week Friday.
This equates to an increase of 1.7% when comparing the Friday to Friday Fix. Last week’s jump was even higher with its return coming in at a positive 2.9%.

As the chart above shows, it was a positive week across the board for all four precious metals. The biggest percentage increase came for platinum with its 5.4 jump up. The smallest increase for the week was the previously mentioned silver rise of 1.7%.
Looking just at silver, the week had a few healthy increases with a few minor corrections following them up. The average London Fix for Silver for Monday was $28.63, up nicely from the previous Friday’s Fix of $28.17. It was followed on Tuesday with a small drop to $28.54 followed by another increase on Wednesday to $28.87. It jumped up another cent on Thursday before Friday’s decline to $28.66 an ounce.
The precious metal is now up $1.41 from its 2012 low established on May 16th of $27.25 an ounce. However, silver is still down significantly from its 2012 high of $37.23 an ounce established on February 29th.
